The SEP embroidered hijjabs have been raising questions, such as: is it really a hijjab? Can I wear it as a shawl? Would it be disrespectful if I did that?

The veil, or hijjab, can refer to any head, face, or body covering worn by Muslim women that conforms to a certain standard of modesty.
